The time did stop still...

The time did stop still...
The eyes didn't wanna blink...
The ears just took in the words...
The heart just felt the music...
The mind basked in the experience...
The lips smiled in realization...

The grain of sand slipped from my hand...
The petals found their heath...
The wind traversed the common mind...
The silence was redefined...
The poet dropped pearls of say...

May be this is the world where i belong...
May be this is the thread i wanna yarn...
May be this is the path i wanna trace...
May be this is the fable i wanna write...
May be this is the 'me' i wanna see...

Some experiences stay with you and make you wish you relive them again...
28th August 2008 was one such day in the lives of some of us at IISc...me definitely being one of them. We still cant stop talking about it!
Noted poet, writer, director Gulzar Ji had come to IISc as part of a Centenary Year event, organised by the Official Language Unit and the Hindi Samiti. It was an evening when Science and Art confluenced to create a heady mixture. He looked at the colours of science from the kaleidoscope of literature and later enthralled the audience with his selected pieces of poetry!
What an evening it was!! Congratulations to the Hindi Samiti students who made this evening possible! I had the honour to do the english compering for the event, the hindi compering being masterfully handled by Sudhanshu...couldnt have been a better beginning to my first compering experience at JNTata Auditorium.
